Prepare team visits Södertörn University

In March/April 2025, the Prepare project team visited Södertörn University for three days of seminars, paper workshops and collaboration.

Södertörn University is located in Stockholm, Sweden, ans is a young university with a strong focus on multidisciplinarity. They offer education and conduct research in the humanities, social sciences, technology and natural sciences, often with a multidisciplinary and intercultural profile.

On March 31-April 2nd, the Prepare team visited scientific advisor and professor Stina Bengtsson and her team in Södertörn.Bengtsson's research focuses on media and everyday life, digital media morality and ethics, youth culture, taste and power. She has been an advisor to Prepare since 2024.

The Södertörn visit started on 31.March with an open guest lecture by Hallvard Moe, PI of Prepare, on the topic of "Alarming climate news and deinal". The following day, a paper workshop for early career researchers and a meeting specifically for doctoral students took place. The paper workshop included papers presented from Bergen and Södertörn, and was organized in cooperation between Prepare and the Digital Transformations Centre of Excellence. The seminar was titled "Digital media and public connection: Threats and possibilities in the age of AI and Datafication". The phd and postdoctoral candidates from Prepare received valuable feedback on their paper drafts.

The visit concluded on 2.April with a discussion of future collaboration between the research teams in Bergen and Södertörn.
