Read the 2024 annual report from the Center of Digital Narrative, detailing a year focused on building and establishing the centre.

In 2024, CDN concentrated on customising its new facility, assembling a team of early career researchers, launching externally funded projects, and fostering collaborations locally and internationally. The report highlights the centre's core goal of creating an ideal research environment for the study of algorithmic narrative, noting that this vision began to materialise in 2024 as a "hotbed of research" into computation's impact on storytelling.

A significant focus throughout the year was leading on AI, with the CDN becoming established as a leader in humanities-based approaches to understanding AI's effects on human storytelling. Central to this is research on algorithmic narrativity, examining the interplay between human and computer authors and how algorithms shape stories. Key activities included the major More Than Meets AI exhibition across five venues in Bergen, the launch of CELL, The Index to revolutionise electronic literature research using Wikidata, and Professor Jill Walker Rettberg receiving an ERC Advanced Grant for the AI STORIES ±è°ù´ÇÂá±ð³¦³Ù.Ìý

The centre also welcomed ten new PhDs, Postdocs, and researchers, , and continued training a new generation of scholars. The report also lists numerous publications and ongoing research projects.
